straight from detroit... BRIGHTLIGHTSBIGCITY. MAYBE THE FUTURE IS HERE TONIGHT. [/color][/right] DEAR READER ,so, i'm new at this whole blog thing. it's like a diary only not at all personal? sure, why not, i'll post my personal thoughts and feelings on the internet and send them off to the world. i don't see how it's possible to unravel your entire life to some random twelve year old stumbling through the internet in tokyo, but it's all the craze these days, isn't it? world: i hope you're listening...
that first day is coming up. you know how that goes. seriously, do you? because i've only really done this 'first day' thing once. i honestly don't know a soul. dan decided to be funny, and pushed me off into this little world saying "you're a real social butterfly! spread your wings and fly!" and then drove off cackling like a witch. the worst part of it? he's right. all these new people are enough to perk my curiosity. i'm surprised i haven't knocked on some random door and introduced myself yet.
i guess i'm just seriously missing the city.
my city.
somehow i won't be able to sleep without the sirens and the drunks flirting with lampposts. not that i slept much anyways, i can remember stumbling into my house at six am, like i was running from the sunlight. i'll miss those nights, and how they didn't end, but just turned into the day.
i'll miss jason and liam and wendy and hunty all the other reckless idiots i call friends.
and i'll miss the nights we spent watching the cars drive across the bridge to canada.
i'll miss the school that i would be ruling as a senior right now if i hadn't moved.
i'll miss those nights i ended up doing something moronic and having to dodge the cops.
i'll miss running through the streets and parks, knowing a ten-mile radius like the back of my hand.
i'll miss lazy sunday afternoons taking pictures of runaway dogs and crows searching for roadkill.
i'll miss every stupid landmark that i never went to.
hell, i'll miss every girl that ever broke up with me and every douchenozzle that ever tried to piss me off.
i'll miss every aspect of that city, all the suburbs around it, and everywhere i've experienced within the general tristate area.
because not even journey knows the significance of being a city boy born in detroit.
it's the only place i know.
