richard mason --

rick is fifty seven and rules over the english/politics department. if you see him walking down the street you'll swear he looks just like jack nicholson. richard mason will never sugarcoat anything when it comes to his students. if you're caught sleeping in the middle of his class, you will receive no warnings. he believes that the only way to learn and accomplish is by experience, and much of the time experience means consequences. if you didn't study for a test one weekend, put that fifty back in your pocket, you can't bribe this man. the last thing he wants is to take some spoiled brat's money. he has worked hard for his salary, i wouldn't underestimate this guy. that fancy new mercedes-benz in the parking lot isn't a rental. but, let's be real, rick's not all about his job. he loves to let loose and have fun. who knows, you might see him out on the town sometime.

nicole fletcher --

nicole is thirty four and rules over the mathmatics department. if you see her walking down the street you'll swear she looks just like kate walsh. this woman is precise. she is organized. she is a machine. if she says she'll be somewhere at three, expect her five minutes early. she likes math, because there's only one answer for everything. it's precise and organized, and she understands it. actually, she understands it better than any math teacher at jefferson before her. this woman's job is all she knows. well, that and her cat. don't try any funny business in this class. she will not contemplate sending you to the office. infact, she never really contemplates anything, she just does, like a machine. until now, that is. nicole is starting to realize the absense of fun in her life. and so, for once in her life, she's experimenting. these highschool kids know what fun is, why not act more like them? dress like them, talk like them, suddenly the students become the teachers. in her precise mind, nicole has started taking note of teenaged aspects, and tried to channel them into her own life. what happens when she actually starts succeeding?

miles dawson --

miles is twenty nine and rules over the chemistry department. if you see him walking down the street you'll swear he looks just like cillian murphy. miles avoids being fired for only one reason: where else in a small town will the school find a chemistry major as intelligent as miles dawson? true, his methods (all his methods) are a bit unorthodox, he has no respect for the teacher dress code, he is found to be rather childish and immature by his co-workers, and his record shows he has been fired from three different schools before moving to summerset, but the students love both him and his skewed views on life. to avoid arguing with someone, be it the principal, a student, etc. he will begin to recite the periodic table of elements in increasingly louder intervals until his opponent backs off. every friday in class is dubbed pyromaniac friday, meaning the smoke alarm in his room will be disconnected and his lesson about which chemicals will combust when combined with something else. he often tells his students that "all chemists are professional pyromaniacs."

lydia beckmann --

lydia is twenty seven and rules over the performing arts department. if you see her walking down the street you'll swear she looks just like rachel mcadams. those who walk into the performing arts class might recognize this bombshell as someone other than their teacher. lydia is an ex-broadway star who had been well on her way to a six-page spread in 'people' or 'u.s. weekly'. but the thought of fame was unsettling, and lydia missed both the quaintness of a small town like one she grew up in and her original childhood dream: teaching. she had her degree, she had enough experience to get a job, why hesitate any longer? lydia, spontaneous as she is, had hopped in her car and drove until she ran out of gas in summerset, where she is now a teacher for those interested in the performing arts. those who have interviewed her claimed she was too nice for showbiz anyways. which is true, lydia doesn't even have the heart to yell at her students. good thing it isn't necessary, they all respect her too much. the magic of summerset has given this girl a happy ending.
