A READINESS OF THINGS I DO

your blood, your bones, your voice
AND YOUR GHOST
hair color -- Brown.
eye color -- Green.
height -- 5'6''.
weight -- 126 lbs.
build -- Average, nothing extraordinary.
distinguishing features? -- Her clothes aren't exactly designer, which a school of mostly rich kids would probably notice.
overall -- Amelia knows what it means to compose herself -- no puns intended. She isn't obsessed about her appearance in the way most girls obsess to attract the opposite sex; her goal is to appear neat, organized, prepared, and ready to take on the world. Her hair is usually down, brushed thoroughly, occasionally straightened, though it's never particularly wavy regardless. She rarely smiles for the sake of others, unless it's within her own family, so there's usually a very serious, occasional mean-spirited look on her face, including a particular flicker in her eyes. Amelia never coats her face in ridiculous amounts of makeup - only the occasional addition of lipstick or mascara - and, having spent many times back home helping her father outside, she's developed a healthy tan.
Her clothes are the main reason Amelia has taken on part-time jobs of her own, though rarely does she wear popular designer name brands. More often than not, she's wears simple, non-flashy, comfortable dresses, and if she's not wearing a dress, she's probably wearing a skirt and a blouse or dress shirt of some kind. At home, she might wear more casual clothing, like jeans and tee-shirts, but rarely does she do so elsewhere. She doesn't count her athletics uniforms as casual, considering they are "uniforms."
i was a hero early in the morning
I AIN'T NO HERO IN THE NIGHT
likes -- Candy, hard work, determination, compassion, piano, singing, creativity, constructive criticism, history, English, French.
dislikes -- Procrastination, rudeness, pity, pink, social interaction, spotlights (unless it involves music she actually likes), biology, mathematics.
fears -- Her family being thrown on the streets, not having opportunities in the future (especially with music, but just in general).
habits -- Humming, tapping fingers in a rhythm, "dancing" in place.
secrets -- As her family doesn't have a very good income, she works after school and keeps her jobs a secret. People might know that she's a scholarship student, but that doesn't mean they have to know about her family's financial situation.
overall -- Serious, passionate, attentive, and creative are the simplest words to describe Amelia Moore. She thrives on music and activity, and she loathes laziness and uncreative ways. From a very young age, Amelia was taught by her mother to play the piano, and since then, she's practiced on it nearly every day. Being the eldest of three children in her family, she also ended up helping her father with yard work and her mother with house work, so she's come to value hard work. She's very uptight, in many ways, but avoids any and all distractions that are thrust upon her. She tries to avoid social interactions because she neither wants to get caught up in some sort of drama or wants to be distracted from her music or education; music first, education second -- people simply get in the way. If she's greeted by a hello, she'll more than likely respond with an equal greeting, but she'll avoid conversations. If someone insults her, she likely will fire back with plenty of insults of her own. Amelia favors constructive criticism, though -- especially since she's very self-critical about her compositions as it is.

history -- Edward and Beatrice met at a Waffle House during the summer before Beatrice's last year of college, as fate would have it, and the rest was history. Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Amelia Evelynn Moore was brought up with manners and the value of hard work. Her mother finished college around the same time Amelia was born, so she was able to get a degree in music. She had originally wanted to become a teacher, but with raising her daughter, she had no time to get a teaching degree. Instead, she stayed home and looked after her daughter, playing her music at home -- and eventually piquing the girl's interest. Amelia's father had gotten a degree in business, and he did many on-and-off jobs as he could never find a job interesting enough to make him arrive on time.
When a second child, Juliette, came into the picture, money became tighter, and Beatrice was forced to turn to her family for support. The first to really answer her call was her brother, Reginald. He agreed to help find Edward a job, and as it was, Reginald's current place of employment - a used car lot - had an opening. This job actually interested the Edward, and the pay was even better than some other jobs he had had. When Edward wasn't working, though, he watched the children so Beatrice could work a part-time job of her own -- in this case, at the same Waffle House in which the pair had met. Amelia's younger brother, Evan, came into the picture soon after, and of course, money became even tighter. Things only worsened from there.
Amelia had always been a well-rounded, attentive young girl, and while she was bored by math and science, she still did very will in every subject. She also participated well in physical education and got along with the other students, but only when she had to; otherwise, she was quiet and, more than likely, studying ahead of the other students. For whatever reason, she was far too concerned with doing well in school to have any real friends, and while she did have a few people that she might carry a normal conversation with, there really wasn't anyone else to turn to. As such, she had a very close relationship with her parents, as they were the only ones she was willing to talk to about anything. When her father was diagnosed with liver cancer, though, she was at a loss. He had been sick for awhile, apparently, and since money wasn't easy to come by, neither were doctor visits.
Edward passed away when Amelia was twelve, and she became less outgoing at home. Her grades briefly began to slip, and she had occasional moments when she wasn't even interested in piano, which was something she played almost every day. This emotional and intellectual stupor went on for about a month -- and then she started picking up her broken pieces. The death of her father was very impacting, as it would be with anyone close to his or her parent, but being the bright girl she was, she contemplated the situation. Music became her outlet to emotion, and she again become the serious, dedicated student that she always had been at school. Her reputation was no longer tarnished in the classroom.
Amelia, fifteen, and her family moved to Summerset, South Carolina, to start anew. Beatrice had to find a new job - technically, jobs - and Amelia had a lucky start: she was accepted into a scholarship program for Jefferson Heights. She had heard that scholarship students were very rare in the school, and while she was by no means stuck-up about it, this only increased her passion for school. She had no idea what to expect, but when she discovered what the other students were like, she knew that her anti-social outlook on life had paid off. Here, she joined in with school activities and excelled in her classes, but she also decided to get part-time jobs of her own to help support the family and to pay for her own clothing.

this here application was made by quinn, who is rather impressed with herself for making it. and therefore, it should not be stolen. however, if you ask her nicely she'll probably be so flattered by the idea that someone wanted to use it that she'll surely hand it over. lyrics by wolf parade.
