introducing the jefferson heights problem,
jefferson heights has always been a high class boarding school found within the small town of summerset. the waiting list to get it goes for miles, and only the best of the best can even think about checking out the brochure. scholarships are a rarity, meaning most of the students look to mommy's credit card and daddy's wallet to get them in. the elite of the town send their pampered children through the presumptuous front gates, and off towards a fantastic education. but what sort of education are they really getting? the majority of the student body ignores math problems and reading assignments, they've got more important things to learn! like who did what last weekend and where the next rager will be held! the cliques group together during passing time while the teachers, as tenured as they are, can do nothing but turn their heads and scribble a little 'A' in their gradebooks. at jefferson heights, there's one rule: money is good grades, money is popularity, money is power.
take out that fancy new BMW and drive down fourty-third street west about ten miles. lo and behlod: summerset west. any student in the town who doesn't have the leverage to attend the high class boarding school ends up here. public school, and therefore "bad" school. these kids don't mix with their jefferson rivals. They have their seperate cliques, they have their seperate parties, they have their seperate way of life. there hasn't been an occasion in history when two students from opposing schools stuck up their noses and one another while passing in the streets. nor has there ever been a friendship strung between members of each alliance strong enough to overcome the tension. beneath the calm, peaceful atmosphere of summerset, there lies a ticking time bomb, one giant rivalry, that's about to explode...
the cruel hands of fate decided to light the fuse and watch everything go to pieces. the town is driven over the edge with bills and fees, and there is no money left to support the education system. the public school shuts down, and the private is carried on the shoulders of the rich. with a regrettable sigh, the government turns to their last option: to fling open the doors of jefferson heights and let anyone in. it was if they put the pretty kitties of the upper-class world in the same room as the scrappy unprivileged mutts. the cliques of either school started doing the only thing they knew how to: tearing eachother apart with gossip and words.
there seems to be an unanswerable question walking the halls of jefferson heights: how do you mix oil and water?
